Work Experience Summary

In short, I am a Network Engineer for Networks, Web, Servers and technical services related to Data, IP and Voice. I have around 8 years practical hands-on experience working in the field of Internetworking technologies including technical management capacities with various network and corporate scenarios including the Telecommunication sector in Asia, Europe and North America. I like to travel and have lived in many countries, not just visited them as a tourist.

I am experienced in Cisco Routers Configuration with thorough hands-on, Network Administration & Support, Ethernet, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, RADIUS, VPN, Apache/IIS Web Server Installation & Support, Wireless LAN 802.11x Setup, LAN Cabling, Remedy Helpdesk and Network & Hardware troubleshooting. Managing backbone Internet and corporate networks is also one of my passions, more than routine. I have experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 provisioning and troubleshooting with Cisco, Nortel, Extreme, Black Diamond, Juniper switches and routers. I can do SONET, ATM, MPLS, IP Multiplexer, Flashwave optical technology implementation and device troubleshooting with engineering perspective on Internet and TLS circuits. Nagios, ZABBIX, MRTG are some of the tools I have played with all day long. I have worked with HP Openview, VMware and other proprietary network management tools. I have hands-on experience working at the Network Operation Center (NOC) of Europe's and North America's largest backbone providers and owners of dark fiber, including the Tier 1 networks.

My current focus is in the areas of Broadband Internetworking & Wireless Communications for Data, IP and Voice. I have worked on WAP & SMS technologies as well as the implementation of these service on GSM Cellular Network using SS7 & other techniques. I also have practical experience supporting CDMA Data and Network. OSPF, BGP, IPv4 and IPv6 are the protocols i have studied in depth. MPLS, RFID and VoIP are the areas I am planning to get certified soon. Network Security is also an important topic that i'm capable of installing and managing. I am experienced installing and managing ip based networks from small offices to corporates. I have also written my Master's degree thesis on Powerline Carrier Communications (i.e communicating high-speed broadband data, voice and ip over home AC wiring), which was used by European Union and UNESCO supported WITFOR in 2005 to base the BIC Research Proposal.

I have worked as Network Engineer, Web & Systems Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Web Designer/Developer, Network Support Engineer, Data and Network Analyst, Laptop/PC/Notebook/PDA/Projectors Helpdesk Technical Support with IMAC, Break-fixes, Corrections and On-Site Support. I have directly supported on-site and on-phone services and products like laptops, servers, networks, PDA, Blackberry BIS/BES Server, CDMA and 3G GSM cellular phones and mobile data devices, wireless modems, air cards and many others from Level 1 to Level 3 and above. Java, JavaScript & PHP are the web programming languages I work with easily. Flash, Paint Shop Pro & Adobe PhotoShop are among the graphics & multimedia softwares I use for designing websites & playing with graphics.  I wish I could summarize it all, I am a quick learner and very enthusiastic about a career opportunity that gives all it takes to be the best.

Web Server Administration and Development

To summarize, I am fully capable of setting up from scratch the most secure and reliable web servers on intranet and Internet. My full practical experience ranges from installing and configuring Apache to configuring mySQL and PHP to tuning the server for optimal performance to managing logs and virtual hosts and using phpMyAdmin, cPanel and other server management solutions. I also design, code, develop and maintain some of the heavy traffic websites. All done single handedly, from scratch to the end.

I am more of a server administrator and web developer than a mere site designer. I have mostly developed Intranets for different companies including high security intranets, freelance and on-job. I am capable of using all available content management technologies for web and administration and custom configurations of services like phpBB, Joomla!, PHP, MySQL, along with full Apache server settings. I am a raw HTML coder since a decade, along with custom CSS development. I also develop custom modules, mods and features for certain LAMP solutions. I also have experience teaching Web Engineering courses at various computer Institutes. Just type in your favorite search engine "online discussion forum" and you can see for yourself the SEO and other development and designing capabilities demonstrated.

The following are some of the online websites I designed and/or custom developed. Some of these sites also use extensive customized coding in PHP and also utilize MySQL databases for interactivity. Additionally all graphics and site themes are custom designed. Unless on a commercial server, I have been fully responsible for powering up the web server from installing and configuration of linux, apache, php, mysql etc. to running it online and managing the site and web server both.
